The clause is already in the contract

Your client signs a contract that names the statutory-interest terms up front — signed in the browser, no account for them.

Interest runs while they delay

The figure is never stale. It is recalculated to the day it is read.

+ £1.29
every day, on this one invoice

Global Halo never touches the money. Your client pays you directly, into your own account. It is the paperwork and the pressure — never a debt collector, and never a cut of what you are owed.

The chase sequence

Four emails, each drafted on the day it is due.

You approve each one before it sends. The pressure escalates on its own; you never have to find the words.

  1. Day 1

    The first chase

The moment an invoice is overdue, the draft is ready — the amount, the days late, the interest so far.

  2. Day 7

    A firmer reminder

The same figures, restated, now with a week of interest added. Plain, and on the record.

  3. Day 14

    Notice of escalation

The client is told, in writing, what happens next if the invoice stays unpaid.

  4. Day 30

    Letter before action

Every chase already sent is listed as evidence, with the total and a 14-day deadline. A template, not legal advice.

Why it works

The lever is already in UK law. Almost no one pulls it.

A better-looking PDF does not get you paid. A client who reads a correct, dated figure understands you keep records — and that is the deterrent.

Questions owners ask

The things you want settled before you send.

Can I really charge interest without a clause in my contract?

Yes. Under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, any overdue B2B invoice accrues statutory interest at the Bank of England base rate plus 8%, currently 11.75% a year, plus fixed compensation. No contract clause is required.

Do you take a cut of what I collect?

Never. Global Halo does not touch the money and does not collect on your behalf. Your client pays you directly, into your own account. It is the paperwork and the pressure, not a debt collector.

Will this damage the relationship with my client?

The wording is calm and businesslike, not a threat. It states the figure, the date and what happens next. Most clients read a precise, recorded demand as a supplier who keeps good records — which is the point.

Is this legal advice?

No. Global Halo is not a firm of solicitors and does not give legal advice. It drafts documents from the Act and its figures. The letter before action is a template; the step beyond it is the money claim service or a solicitor.
